"So Where Do You Go At Night?" A trip to the South Seas and Alaska

Lamplugh Glacier
Lahaina – “We were horrified to see so many boats anchored in the channel outside the reef. This did not bode well for finding an inside berth away from choppy waters, and meant we would need to dinghy ashore.”

Lamplugh Glacier, Glacier Bay – “It is perfectly calm and peaceful except for chirping and squawking of birds on a small island which hangs suspended in equal greys of low fog and water; there is no horizon as they merge. Faint whites of ice floes drift by. It is difficult to imagine this place may, in the winter, have winds over 50 knots, 10 foot seas and freezing spray.”
